A couple of gripes

The included cables are a bit messy...

...until you tape them up.

A while ago, we reviewed FrontX's multimedia ports, a product similar to the Easy USB. The FrontX product costs $10 more, but will bring all your multimedia (audio, game, etc..) ports to a 5.25" bay. So more ports are available at the front of the case than with the Easy USB, but you lose all of the 5.25" bay to get them. You also lose out on another $10.

One other minor gripe with the Easy USB is the USB header cable they've included. While I found the length ample, the wires weren't bound together in any way along their length. This makes for messy internal cable routing unless you wrap a little tape around the wires every few inches. The standard PCI USB headers that come with most motherboards have sheathed the wires in plastic; it would have been nice for Antec to have done the same.

Conclusions
Wow, that was short. Really, there's not much to say. If you have a lot of USB devices, and you regularly plug and unplug them, the Easy USB is a simple way to move those two auxiliary USB ports to the front of your machine—that is, if your motherboard has an auxillary USB header.

If you don't need multimedia ports up front, are really strapped for cash, or would prefer to have an extra 3.5" bay usable, the Easy USB is for you. If, however, multimedia ports are important to you (for things like headphones and joysticks), or you really have no use for an extra 3.5" bay, you might be better off with FrontX's multimedia ports, or something more along those lines.

What I'd really like to see is this kind of product pacakged with new motherboards, rather than sold as an aftermarket accessory. The idea is simple, and it just makes sense. Why anyone would want those two extra USB ports coming out the back of their PC is beyond me, and most of us have a 5.25" bay to spare.
