Funky cooling
The e-GeForce4 MX 440's massive yellow heat sink is easily its most eye-catching feature; let's take a closer look at what eVGA dubs its Asymmetric Cooling System.

The high-RPM fan is actually pretty quiet

The heart of eVGA's cooling solution is a 5500-RPM fan that, despite its high speed, is remarkably quiet. With a mean time between failure of 210,000 hours, the fan ought to be good for the next two decades, which should keep you covered.

eVGA takes a different approach to cooling

eVGA's funky cooling solution doesn't actually place the fan over the GPU. Instead, the cooler is a cross between a blower and a heat sink, with the fan moving air across fins anchored to the GPU.

eVGA uses real heat sink goop

Unlike some video cards, whose heat sinks are glued on or otherwise difficult to remove, eVGA's massive yellow cooler is a snap to pull off. eVGA's thermal compound application wasn't perfect with our sample, but they did a much better job than I'm used to seeing.
