RAID 5 CPU utilization concludes our benchmarking, and these final graphs solidify a few trends we've seen develop throughout our IOMeter testing. Promise's FastTrak SX4000 continues to be the most CPU-cycle-hungry RAID card of the lot, especially as loads increase. The competition gets by on far fewer cycles fewer cycles, albeit with lower performance in some situations. Adaptec's 2400A continues to have the lowest CPU utilization of all the cards we tested, though 3ware's Escalade 7500 gives it a good run for its money with the database test pattern in particular.
