The Deskstar manages to steal second place from one of the Raptors in Winbench 99's Business Diskmark, but the 7K250 doesn't fare so well in the High-End Diskmark, where it only manages to beat the Barracuda.

In Winbench 99's disk transfer rate tests, the 7K250 leads all 7,200-RPM drives, but is still well behind the fastest Raptor.

The Deskstar continues to lead the 7,200-RPM pack in Winbench 99's access time test, but again, the drive is no match for 10K-RPM Raptors.
