Noise levels
Noise levels were measured with an Extech 407727 Digital Sound Level meter 1" from the drives at idle and under an HD Tach seek load.

Silence is golden, and the T7K250 is about as quiet as they come. The drive's comparatively low seek noise levels are particularly impressive.

Power consumption
Power consumption was measured for the entire system, sans monitor, at the outlet. I used the same idle and load environments as the noise level tests.

System power consumption is lower with the T7K250 than with the other drives we tested. If low power consumption is a priority, users can also configure the drive with an even lower power idle state.
