SLI graphics performance
While we're on the subject of dual graphics cards in the K8T900, let's take a look at SLI performance on a VIA chipset.

Yes, you read that right.

We were able to obtain a set of older NVIDIA drivers, revision 71.24, that don't include a chipset-based lockout for SLI. These drivers aren't new enough to support monsters like the GeForce 7800 GTX 512, but they work just fine with a couple of GeForce 6800 Ultras. Here's the K8T900 going head to head against the nForce4 SLI in SLI mode.

Whaddaya know? The K8T900 actually ties NVIDIA's own chipset in SLI mode in Doom 3 and slightly surpasses it in 3DMark05. We didn't note any screen corruption problems as the K8T900 ran in SLI mode, nor did we experience any system lock-ups or crashes. It just worked. Based on our brief experiences with it, the K8T900 would appear to be fully capable of working with NVIDIA's SLI, if only NVIDIA's drivers will allow it.

Oh, also.. I really wanted to test out SLI on an ATI CrossFire motherboard for comparison here, but the CrossFire board that I had on hand would not POST successfully with a pair of GeForce 6800 Ultras installed. We'll have to taste that particular form of forbidden fruit at a later date.
