As Crysis begins to peek its head out in Australia and New Zealand, Nvidia has released a set of beta drivers to improve the performance of its GeForce graphics cards in the new title. Dubbed ForceWare 169.09, the release fixes a water reflection bug and adds support for SLI multi-GPU setups in Crysis. It also allows users to change Crysis' anisotropic filtering settings through the Nvidia Control Panel.
Nvidia quotes the following performance gains for GeForce 8800 GT and GeForce 8800 GTX SLI setups in the new game:
Setting Single SLI Scaling GeForce 8800 GT 512MB 1600x1200 High 24.05 34.76 45% GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB 1920x1200 High 22.7 31.87 40%
The ForceWare 169.09 release is available from Nvidia's beta drivers page for GeForce FX, GeForce 6, GeForce 7, and GeForce 8 cards in Windows XP and Windows Vista.
Update: It looks like the 169.09 drivers aren't available for GeForce FX users who run Windows Vista. They are however available for GeForce FX users with Windows XP.
