Asetek has introduced a liquid cooling kit for AMD's new double-slot gaming monster, the Radeon HD 4870 X2. Though unfortunately OEM only, it at least takes some of the stank off of having a pair of these draw more than 750 watts in a high-end system by keeping them from throwing so much of that heat back inside the case. Though the image given with the press release appears to be of just a Radeon HD 4870 with the liquid cooling kit attached, their kit promises to reduce operating temperatures of the HD 4870 X2 by as much as 28 degrees.
They're announcing immediate availability of the kit. Hopefully this means AMD's partners will be offering liquid cooled X2s (or even just garden-variety 4870s) in the near future.
