Could your next notebook have an Antec chassis? What about an Antec docking station? Surprisingly, that'll be possible very soon. Antec has announced a new line of standard notebook "building blocks" designed to accommodate Intel's Rich Creek 2 mobile motherboards, which themselves stem from the Intel Common Building Block standard.
Antec's mobile components include two chassis, a docking station, as well as keyboards, AC adapters, battery packs, web cameras, and Bluetooth modules. The company claims this launch "marks the first time that system builders will be able to build customized, personalized laptops from individual components, in the same way they do now with server and desktop PCs."
System builders can reportedly start placing orders for Antec's new Common Building Block components right now. Until the parts begin storming non-descript pre-built laptops, you can take a peek at them inour image gallery below.
