Ubiquity mashes up web content with simple commands

While Microsoft continues to polish up Internet Explorer 8, the people at Mozilla are experimenting with new ideas. Case in point: Mozilla's Aza Raskin, who posted on the Mozilla Labs blog about an experimental Firefox extension dubbed Ubiquity. The extension essentially behaves like a user-friendly command line with the power to fetch, parse, and mash together web content through simple, natural-language instructions.

Rather than go into detail about the specifics, we'll let Raskin himself describe Ubiquity in the video below:

Pretty neat, huh? You can test Ubiquity for yourself by grabbing the prototype extension and checking out the user tutorial. Beware, though: this is very early, alpha-quality software that may not work properly and/or set your computer on fire.
