For the few who've mastered the art of touch-typing, key labels might almost seem redundant. For everyone else, though, having more visible keys probably can't hurt. Logitech must have had the latter in mind when it created its new Illuminated Keyboard, because it features an adjustable backlight to make keys visible in the dark.
Logitech has the backlighting concept down to a science, too. The Swiss peripheral maker claims it "combined microlens reflectors, a multilayer painting process and laser etching" to create backlighting that's "brighter, sharper and easier to read." Otherwise, the Illuminated Keyboard couples a very thin profile (only 0.37", or 9.3 mm) with notebook-style keys that have longer-than-usual key travel. Typists will also find a numeric keypad, a full-sized paging block, and a set of F keys that double as shortcut and media keys.
The Logitech Illuminated Keyboard is launching with a $79.99 recommended price, and Logitech will cover it with a three-year warranty. (Thanks to DailyTech for the heads-up.)
