Well, there's a surprise. Pocket-Lint reports that Dell's new ultra-thin luxury laptop doesn't have a user-serviceable battery.
That means the Dell Adamo has inherited two of the MacBook Air's notable downsides: no built-in optical drive and a non-replaceable battery. As Pocket-Lint writes, folks will be forced to send in their laptop if the battery goes kaput—and Dell has allegedly remained quiet despite "repeated requests" for a price quote on service costs.
In case you missed the memo, the Adamo launched last week at $1,999. The system has a casing carved from a single slab of aluminum, just like Apple's latest MacBooks, and it comes with an 128GB solid-state drive as standard. However, the Adamo only has a 1.2GHz Core 2 Duo processor and Intel integrated graphics, which look a little meager compared to the 1.6GHz CPU and GeForce 9400M in the MacBook Air.
