Ever fancied spending almost a grand and a half on a preposterous amount of RAM for your desktop PC? Well, thanks to Kingston's latest HyperX memory kit, you'll soon be able to.
The freshly announced Kingston HyperX 1600MHz 12GB triple-channel kit is made up of just three modules. Each stick packs 4GB's worth of memory chips, which Kingston says are capable of reaching 1,600MHz at 1.65V with respectable 9-9-9-27 timings. (The modules use Intel Extreme Memory Profiles to make configuration easier, as well.) Suggested retail price: $1,400.
Coincidentally, $1,400 is almost the price of the Core i7-powered Sweeter Spot build from our last system guide. With Kingston's new 12GB kit instead of the 6GB bundle we picked, that system would've added up to just over $2,600.
