You may not have to dig through old boxes and use third-party tools to play those old LucasArts games anymore. As Shacknews reports, a handful of them have appeared on Valve's Steam distribution service at bargain-bin prices.
The list includes both old classics like The Dig and Loom as well as fairly recent titles like Lego Indiana Jones:
Armed and Dangerous - $9.99 Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis - $4.99 Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure - $4.99 LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventure - $19.99 LOOM - $4.99 Star Wars Battlefront II - $19.99 Star Wars Republic Commando - $9.99 Star Wars Starfighter - $4.99 The Dig - $4.99 Thrillville: Off the Rails- $19.99
Shacknews says the games are "self-running executables" with full support for Windows Vista and Windows XP. LucasArts reportedly didn't use third-party compatibility software like SCUMMVM, but it did add support for higher resolutions in some of the older titles.
Incidentally, Monkey Island games are notably absent from the list. There's a good reason for that. The Shack wrote a couple days ago that a remake of the original The Secret of Monkey Island with new, high-res graphics will hit Steam next week.
