Apple disables Palm Pre's iTunes sync
In an attempt to steal some thunder from the Palm Pre, Apple has issued an iTunes update locking the Palm Pre out from syncing with iTunes.
According to this report at CNET, the 8.2.1 update for iTunes "provides a number of important bug fixes and addresses an issue with verification of Apple devices" (taken from Apple's text of the update itself). After installing this update, the Palm Pre's Media Sync feature no longer synchronizes itself with iTunes.
Palm has suggested users either stick with iTunes 8.2 or use third-party applications such as doubleTwist and The Missing Sync to circumvent the problem.
