AMD showed its DirectX 11 graphics hardware in action at QuakeCon last week, but it made a point to conceal the physical graphics card producing the eye candy on screen. Well, Chiphell now claims to have obtained several photos of a DirectX 11 card that may just be the model inside that QuakeCon demo PC.
The card looks a bit stubby, and its cooler has the same shape as that of AMD's existing Radeon HD 4770. However, we can see a black circuit board, memory chips at the back, and a familiar output port configuration: HDMI, DisplayPort, and DVI in the first row, plus a cooling vent and another DVI port in the second row. That looks very much like the back of the card Legit Reviews caught a shot of at QuakeCon.
Judging by the size of the circuit board and the presence of only a single power connector, this might just be a future mid-range or mainstream offering based on AMD's next-gen GPU. Chiphell previously posted images of a beefier-looking cooler, which may be intended for a higher-end model. (Thanks to Expreview for the link.)
