AMD's rumoured processor naming scheme is a poor solution to the "MHz myth" perception problem. It's deceptive. It takes advantage of the ignorance of the consumer masses, and it will be very difficult to effectively implement in the first place. In the past few years, AMD has won its legitimacy the hard way: its performance and value put it on the map. Now, with Intel pushing beyond 2GHz, and AMD (at least at the moment) stuck at 1.4GHz, AMD is experiencing a little MHz envy.
