Early DOOM III demo version leaked
by Scott Wasson — 3:49 PM on November 3, 2002

This is almost old news, but since the cat's well out of the bag by now, I thought I'd go ahead and whip up a post. As early as this past Friday, an early release of DOOM III,(apparently the one used in the demos at E3) found its way on to the 'net. Now you can even find tweak pages like this one that will help with configuring the game engine. The file reportedly includes three levels, and although it's pretty rough, it's marginally "playable."

The really interesting reason to seek a peek at this code running, though, is to see the eye candy. The consensus in the TR IRC channel seems to be that it's a little slow, but looks amazing.
