BitTorrent consumes 35% of internet traffic

A new report suggests that BitTorrent accounts for up to 35% of all internet traffic. Although popular among peer-to-peer pirates, BitTorrent is also widely used to legitimately distribute larger files like Linux ISOs, movie trailers, and game demos. Since BitTorrent makes no attempt to mask the identity of those sharing files, it may eventually fall out of favor with pirates. Thanks to Slashdot for the tip.
