Dell & NVIDIA unveil Quad SLI-certified PC
by Ronald Hanaki — 7:21 PM on January 5, 2006

Dell and NVIDIA's press release is here, and PC Perspective covers their presentation from CES. Imagine a card with 1.3 billion transistors with 96 pixel pipes able to push 41 gigapixels per second with an incredible 2GB of memory all on one PCB.

Initially, these cards will only be available in Dell systems scheduled to ship this spring. With any luck, this card will be available as a stand-alone component, but there is no official word on that yet. You will, however, be needing a motherboard based on NVIDIA's nForceŽ4 SLI X16 chipset (all 16 lanes of them) to run this card if and when it is available separately.
