Meyer promoted to AMD president

Dirk Meyer has been promoted to president of AMD. Meyer previously served as the president and Chief Operating Officer of AMD's microprocessor division. He takes over for Hector Ruiz, who will continue to serve as AMD's CEO and chairman of the board.
