Torvalds says no to GPL 3
Linux guru Linus Torvalds has confirmed that he will not convert the open source operating system to conform to version 3 of the General Public License (GPL). Torvalds disagrees with the new GPL's stance on Digital Rights Management.
Torvalds specifically objected to one new provision in the GPL 3 draft that opposes digital rights management, which is technology that uses encryption to control the use of content and running of software.
