Video shows WinXP running on Intel iMac

Engadget has a video of Windows XP running on an Intel iMac. The video was shot by a user known only as Narf2006, who also posted some pictures of his work on Monday. Unlike their PowerPC-based siblings, Intel Macs are unable to run Virtual PC and emulate Windows XP, so the video does seem quite convincing. Narf2006 has reportedly sent his solution to the Windows XP on an Intel Mac contest, which promises nearly $13,000 to anyone able to come up with a reproducible way to boot Windows on an Intel Mac. Last week, Microsoft announced that Vista would likely never work on Core Duo-based Intel Macs, so the future is otherwise bleak for Mac users hoping to dual-boot Windows and MacOS X on their Macs.
