Microsoft has revealed the shipping date of Office 2007. The company says business customers will get their hands on the new Office suite in October, while the retail and OEM launch will have to wait until January 2007. This is a similar strategy to the company's recently announced release schedule for Windows Vista, which is to launch for businesses in November, following with retail availability in January 2007. Office 2007 should be available in seven flavors, including a $149 Home and Student release that will contain Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. Microsoft will allow users to install this version on up to three machines.
