What the heck happened to Mapquest?

Sat Dec 20, 2014 5:49 pm

I think I have been using MapQuest for 14 or more years. Now it makes you install the ask.com toolbar or you can't use mapquest. I guess that's the last time I will ever go to THAT website.

Might want to check your plugins or other browser cruft. Just mapped a route from my house to the White House with no popup for ask.com.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

Yup, no Ask nonsense here either. Not sure what's up on your end.

Edit: Occurred to me that it could be Windows (or IE) specific, so I just tried via IE on a Windows 7 box. No issues there either.

People still use other providers than Google Maps? Why? Seems sadomasochistic.

I actually thought about going back to Mapquest when Google revamped Maps a few months back. I still prefer the old Google Maps interface to the current one.

Well, Google took ages to actually put my address down (my entire street actually) so there's that. Not taking any bets on who's first to figure out that it changed again just now (same place, different address.)
Meow.
