Whatever you do, get yourself a criminal lawyer now. Do not talk to the police without that lawyer present.

Yeah her uncle is a lawyer he will probably help out. Plus the family has a lawyer on retainer as I understand it. So well covered on that part.

I'm just pissed off this fella does not seem to have done his "homework". I don't think he realized my wife was married or that she was so hearing impaired. He did not say anything but it was written all over his face.

We had no idea when we walked in that my wife was a suspect.

Too tell you the truth seeing how many "minutes" I use just text messaging, i would hate to think how many would be used sending email.

Minutes (airtime) and text pages are two seperate entities. What carrier do you use and what plan are you on?

Centeniel. I'm on their blue region plan.
Text messaging is free is just uses minutes...

If you use your cell phone as a modem with some companies it eats your minutes at twice their normal rate from what I remember.

How'd you happen to stay for free at such a nice place? :o

My girlfriend's mom is an insurance adjuster and had tons of points with Hilton....it cost her 40,000 points to get us a room there for one night. Normally it's $350 a night there, which IMO is highway robbery. Really it wasn't all that nice. I've been in Holiday Inn Expresses with nicer rooms, and they didn't even have free WiFi ($9.95 a day, my ass!) Since the hotel was about 2 blocks from the White House though, that made it convenient.

The change of guard is a very presitious duty for a marine. I very much doubt he cared if it was 100 degree or 500 degrees. As long as he's drinking his 8 canteen's of water a day! :) (What temperature was it that a day is considered to be a 'black flag' day in bootcamp? Anyone remember that?)

Well, Marines don't guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier; Soldiers (that's Army) do it. Yes, it is an honor to be part of the unit that performs this function (The Old Guard), but slow marching, facing, and performing weapons movements in 100 degree heat in a wool uniform for 30 minutes is never fun. Trust me. I'm sure the kid was looking forward to seeing his relief show up. After you do a certain amount of ceremonial work it unfortunately becomes routine to you.

Thanks for sending the heatwave my way. 100+ today, 104 estimated for tomorrow.

Must be a different MDS. This one is a nedia company whose first projects were machinima movies using Guild Wars as the engine (among other things). My roommates are the ones that run it (although it's not been updated in a good long while. I just promote it (somewhat) and I had not better use for my sig.

I do not believe I've posted these pics...

Here's what the minivan that hit me would have seen with me sitting at the intersection:

Image

There's no signage to indicate this intersection. There is no car at the intersection now, but that hardly makes a difference.

Image

To get this level of visibility, my car would have been out in the road. Not to mention, I was lower than that shot, too.

Polygraph tests are not permissible as evidence last I heard. Not to mentionthere are ways to beat them (beta blockers are AWESOME), I took some to calm my nerves for a speach, you still GET nerves, but it doesnt show in your voice, color, manerisms etc. Cool stuff.

I have a bottle from 2002 in my fridge. It gets better with age.

Yeah, it's a six pack from this year, and I'd like to stretch it out for a few years, maybe drink a bottle or 2 a year around the holidays or something. I could definitely taste the potential for graceful aging with the other six pack I purchased around the same time.

Heh, the way her purse is dangling it almost does look like she's cutting the lawn with a lawnmower..Hehe. My first thought after reading Prime's comment was - Wow, I wonder if the person who lives there ran out and started cutting the lawn after witnessing the accident, or something. LOL

In other news:

REMOVED BECAUSE GLEEK PISSED ME OFF
Changed my wife's name to "FroBozz's Wife" since you all don't need to know her name, LOL.

So we feel pretty lucky to be one of only a dozen or so recipients of full "scholarships" so my wife can attend this free of charge, everything paid for. She even got a $300 check yesterday for "spending money" while there.

So it'll just be me and Amber Mon-Thurs next week when mommy flies away for all of this. I sure there isn't going to be a dull moment! I'm hoping things go well for my wife, and that she brings home a wealth of knowledge. I do know she's been tasked with taking notes for the rest of the parents in PCDS.

So Gleek, there's an example of what kind of good stuff nonprofits can do for you, and it has nothing to do with religion.

We're supposed to get a little relief here in the southeast today. Rather than 100F, we're supposed to top out at 95F. If all goes well, a front will move through, and we'll be down to 85F tomorrow. I hope it rains all night long, baby!

Heh, nope. I did BTW smoke her twice in a row playing yesterday. Felt great. One round we BOTH had 3 in the hole and one on top. For a total of ZERO. LOL - that's probably the best turn either of us has had together.

Temp-locked to send the recent nastiness to the TR bit bucket.

EDIT: Seems that DYMT is too large to load into the module used to split out posts. It'll stay locked until I, Alex, or Kevin figure out how to fix this.

EDIT 2: As one poster has already discovered, DYMT Mk II is strictly out of bounds. Be patient, all, there's a big mess to fix and we're trying to figure out the best way of fixing it.

EDIT 3: Here endeth DYMT. Yes, this thread is finally over. Don't worry, though, the son of DYMT will open soon once we figure out what to name it. Kevin will let us all know when that occurs. I've stickied this for now in case people want to read it for posterity's sake.

EDIT 4: DYMT is reborn as "dymt reloaded" Look for it here:
