I'm not seeing any capacity limit other than 50,000 songs your allowed to upload.

It would take you 2,363 continuous hours or 98 days,11 hours, and 35 minutes of gameplay to complete your Steam library.
In this time you could travel to Venus one time.

Read the fine print. Everything (including FLAC) is converted to 320 kbps MP3 (max; lower if already at a lower bitrate) on upload. If it's to be converted, I'd much rather do it myself with dbPoweramp.

Working late. Going through album library and listening to things I haven't in a while.

Just listened through the entirety of Springsteen's "Born to Run", which is really a fantastic album start to finish. Moving on to Chicago's "Chicago Transit Authority", which does lose its way at times, but has some brilliant high points. Also feels very much like a performance, as opposed to a recording, despite it being a studio album.

The Power of Love

Ahh, they were back on the road again as of a couple of years ago? They're lookin' a little old, and Huey's a little out of tune here and there, but still good stuff. Saw them perform live back in their heyday, and again oh, maybe 5 years ago... at the Naperville Ribfest, where else?

I like his sense of humor... "who knew, when we wrote and recorded this song, that we'd have to perform it every single night of our lives..."

They always struck me as an "everyman bar band strikes it rich" sort of success story. Bunch of good guys who really love what they're doing, and are having a lot of fun.

Edit: And a little trip down memory lane, for the MTV generation --

SUN - Something Unto Nothing

One of my favorite female blues-rock vocalists (Sass Jordan) in a harder-edged setting. Not sure how I missed this when it was released (it has been out for a few years).

OK, so it feels a little bit calculated at times, and there's way too much dynamic range compression -- damnit, let the music breathe a little! -- but this is still some pretty good stuff.

Captain Ned alert... I know you're a Sass Jordan fan!

Edit: The engineering on Sass' breakthrough album "Racine" (over 2 decade ago!) was far superior. Jeez, let the loudness wars go. Use your damn ears, and don't crush the life out of the music. THIS REALLY PISSES ME OFF!

Edit 2: Don't get me wrong... I'm loving this on first listen. But I'd love it even more if the recording engineer had a clue. Help me Steven Wilson, you're my only hope.

Edit 3: Unfortunately, this release is obscure enough that we'll never see a remaster with someone at the helm who has a clue...

Making a playlist for the drive to LA tomorrow. Kinda have to make this one less obnoxious since mom will be in the car.

Let's see... I took some top 90's/2000's playlists, and went from there. Some highlights - Streetcorner Symphony/Rob Thomas, Never Let You Go/Third Eye Blind, Bitter Sweet Symphony/The Verve (could be clearer though). And some rap here and there. :)

Solid. The 'Live aus Berlin' performance of 'Rammstein' and 'Seemann' are my go-to's for crappy days also.

I'm not a religious Rammstein fan, but their performance and sound is great.

I agree. I remember when Rob Halford said in an interview that the "A" side of Paranoid was the best heavy metal album ever made. I use the title track as one of my ringtones.

Current'y listening to The Maestro, Luciano Pavarotti.

If the Genie from the lamp gave me 3 wishes, one would be to have the singing voice of Pavarotti.

I just heard the most bass-boosted version of The Supremes' Baby Love on FM. Seriously, I was feeling that bass line in my chair across the room.
WHERE CAN I FIND THAT VERSION?
I have this song on 3 different CDs and on vinyl, and none of them have that insane amount of bass. I know the version I just heard on the radio isn't at all what the song's supposed to sound like, but I really liked it.

Not finding it on YouTube either. I wonder if the station just cranked up the EQ? May have to ask them.

Herd Of Instinct (self-titled)

Only just started listening to this album, but first impressions are that they play angular, somewhat dissonant instrumental prog rock. Members of King Crimson, Djam Karet, and Porcupine Tree put in guest appearances. I definitely hear some echoes of King Crimson.

Captain Ned - I think you'll be interested in these guys. The Djam Karet web site is currently running a sale on all of their CDs ($8 each), which is cheaper than anywhere else I've seen.

Edit: OK, there's the occasional vocal track as well.

Edit 2: IIRC the DK site had some samples.

I shall give it a listen when I get home. Right now all I can hear is the cover door for the hotel room A/C (older vertical-style in-wall unit) vibrating/rattling despite my stuffing most of my towel supply in the cracks to try to quiet it. I even put a sticky note on the door in Spanish (thanks, Google Translate) for the room staff asking them not to remove my contraption.
