Seeing these two on your list, but not Devin Townsend, kind of surprises me since they were recently on tour together.

I went to the show in Dallas to see Townsend, and stuck around for Gojira. I missed The Atlas Moth's set as the wife and I were having dinner. It was a damn good show, though I wish Townsend would have played "Suicide" from Accelerated Evolution.

I went to the Worcester, MA show. Gojira was extremely impressive. We missed Atlas Moth, too. Fortunately, I saw them before in Boston before.

The Tragically Hip - Blow at High Dough, recorded 26-Oct-2002 at Stubb's BBQ in Austin, TX, and part of the Hip's official concert releases available from their web site (for a fee).

How to explain the Hip? Sorry, can't do it. Been privileged in that my little slice of VT cottoned on to them from day 1 and whenever they tour we get a show and a damn good one as we were there from the start and Gordie has always been thankful for that (at least in public).

The gentle whirring and clicking of a KONICA/MINOLTA BIZHUB 750 while my head pounds. I think I'm sick... (╥_╥)

It's funny how quiet ambience like this can do wonders for your mental well-being. Just the subtle clicking of my cherry MX switches and these machines in this office, and everything is quiet otherwise...

I've mentioned this one in passing previously... experimental fusion with Bill Bruford, Tony Levin, and Mark Isham. Good stuff.

I went looking for this purely based on the name, because it sounded like the kind of thing I would listen to. (I actually listen to almost everything that's brought up in this thread since I started posting on it!) I didn't notice you said right there it was jazz fusion. :eng101: ╰(´◔ω◔ `)╯ Nooot my taste.

Sooo, now it's TOOL - Parabola.

'For The Masses' - a cover album of 80s era synthpop/new wave by some very talented artists. The covers are recognizable but done well in the style of each cover artist. I like it because the originals weren't exactly my cup of tea, but the covers breath new life into them. They gave me a new found appreciation for the depth of the lyrics on songs like 'Everything Counts' and 'Stripped'. Highly recommended.

"Starless" (closing track from King Crimson's "Red" album). "Red" was their last studio release before the '70s incarnation of the band called it quits. Powerful stuff, and a fitting coda to that chapter of their history.

If I have to fault it for anything, I have to say that I find some of John Wetton's vocal mannerisms annoying (many of you probably know him better as the lead singer of arena rock band Asia in the 1980s). But the mind-blowing instrumental last 2/3ds of this 12+ minute track makes up -- and then some! -- for any other shortcomings. The last minute or so gives me chills every time I listen to this song.
