swallowed wrong, started coughing up a long. Then one of them walked in (she'd been in the breakroom I guess), and just saw me coughing. So she asked if I needed a drink...I tried to tell her "a drink did this" but it came out sounding like I was a member of the Vienna Boys Choir with strep throat, and everyone cracked up--I'm normally a really deep voiced guy and I sounded like I was 9.

Having 16 years with the same group of co-workers your incident is perfectly OK. While you may not like it now in 10 years it will be a staple story among people who weren't even there when it happened. We still tell stories of people who retired 10 years before I signed on. You've become part of the permanent lore in your group so it's time to accept it and move on.

Based on what you've posted about your job (low pay, bad hours, working with the public), I'm not surprised.

Yeah, I'm not surprised at all. Just kind of bummed. At this point, I'm holidng off job hunting until after my son's born (yay, health insurance+ build up vacation) but after that it's on in earnest for a better paying job.

I pretty much did the same thing, moved across country with a the family including 3 month old for a new job. I basically got the job offer the night before my wife went into the hospital. Changing insurance last minute would suck.

Tired of Hollywood movies i turned to anime. For the past month or so i mostly watched anime series. I just finished watching Full Metal Panic and i'm now watching Requiem for the phantom and before that i watched Rahxephon and Mobile Suit Gundam 00. Srsly all of them have better stories than 99% of the crap movies that have been put out lately. Every new trailer for the past 3-4 years get me excited but it all falls apart when i actually see the movie (from Wrath of the Titans to Prometheus i only got dissapointed).

Edit
@Requiem for the phantom
OMG, dat ending :*(

The only reason we got reloaded is because the forum software at the time of its creation could not handle the hugeness of the original dymt. My guess is that since the current software apparently isn't at its limit that we'll be on reloaded for a while.

Wife's grandfather broke his hip this morning. he's going into surgery pretty soon, but I'm not optimistic; he's 90 and the last time I saw him he seemed pretty frail.

Back then the moderator control panel tried to load the entire thread any time a mod change was needed. That blew out the memory resources of the server back then. I know, as I'm the one who blew it up. The current MCP loads one page at a time, so it's highly unlikely we'll ever see Revolutions.

It probably didn't help when boofer was trying to nest as many quotes as he could in one page.

Sorry to hear it man. Hope all goes well, but at that point lots of folks don't come out of it well. :(
