Wait a model year and it'll have a turbo motor.

can't really afford to wait a year, I'm being price gouged very badly on my current car and want to offload

Also honestly 200 hp naturally aspirated and a 6-7 second 0-100 is fine with me, I think I'd be a bit too much of a pest with the fat turbo, and I kind of miss the linear response of NA as well (I'm on a turbo at the moment)

Do they make snow and ice where you live? If so, you might not want to switch from average FWD to a high-performance RWD sports coupe, unless you intend to keep the Ford around as a winter beater. That leaves FWD cars more along the lines of the Civic Si or the Kia Forte Koup, the latter being what the Civic Si should have looked like had Honda not taken all of their designers out back and shot them about eight years ago. The Scion TC is also out there at the $20k mark, although the 2011 redesign has more than a passing resemblance to a chopped Gremlin.

Otherwise, the FR-S/BR-Z and Genesis get my vote.

They do make ice and snow where I live. However, I don't travel anything but major roads on the way to work. I was thinking about buying snow tires for it if I do buy a RWD car, though. I have to admit though, I'm not quite sure that'll make that much of a difference.

I don't think I'll be able to keep around my Ford as a winter beater. It's pretty much falling apart at this point (I've spent $1700 on it in the last four months).

the negative effects of RWD in snow, especially RWD with good traction control like the FR-S, are grossly exaggerated.

That said, I'm grabbing snow tires for mine for the insurance discount and added perk.

My local news station needs a better headline person.

Went there to check on some stuff for work, and the lead headline was "Farm worker shoots wad at man sexting his wife."

Some of the lines in the article are pretty good too; I'm amazed a copy editor didn't go to town on it.

Yikes on a stick! :o

The forest fire that evacuated 11,000 people in Manitou Springs earlier this week before shifting northeast, just crested the final ridge in north Colorado Springs as a firestorm. 32,000 people under mandatory evacuation including a large portion of the Air Force Academy, some houses already destroyed in the foothills, and if anyone has previously heard of the Flying W Ranch...it's gone, too

My left shoulder dislocated while I attempted to see if I could do a chin up...which answers that question. Now I have to see a doctor at some point, because I'm fairly sure that shouldn't have happened.

The shoulder. I didn't think I'd be able to get the chin up but wanted to see hwo close I could come. Got about 6" off the floor and my shoulder went out. Painful. Putting it back in was also painful. Can't tell which was worse.

My work vehicle died today.

Maybe this means I won't have to drive a crappy old PT cruiser any more! Just wish I didn't have to get spray in the face with smoke for it to happen.

We've started trying to use the SMART template to evaluate goals/objectives at work. Usually I hate, hate hate buzzspeak with a passion, but I kind of like the idea of making sure our goals aren't just frigging stupid.
But damn it's a lot of work to go through each goal and evaluate if it fits those criteria.

Are you sure you don't mean a pullup? It would be strange though not unheard of to dislocate a shoulder during a chinup (which primarily engages the biceps) whereas the pullup will utilize the shoulder, traps, and recruit some other muscles depending on how much range of motion is induced. Question: Were you performing these 'cold' such that you didn't warm up the muscle group with lighter weight or at least mobilize the joints? Also, in the future consider doing negative reps first to train yourself to do these; get a chair and hoist yourself into the "up" position, then as slowly as possible, lower yourself. That's 1 negative rep and it's a great way to develop the strength to do these unassisted.

I had been warmed up prior to attempting it (had just finished building my power rack, which involved lots of movement, lifting, carrying, using tools, etc).

I had a narrow (slightly less th an shoulder width) chin up grip in place. I'm going to try to do negatives or use bands or something and see if that's still a problem...but first I'm giving it a couple days.
My shoulder's always been easy to pop out, particularly my left one, but I'd though the OHP work I'd been doing would be enough to have helped with that...oh well.

Hopefully I can do a max out on bench today though :D I'm curious if I can still even do body weight (probably not).

Preliminary survey tally in Colorado Springs, as reported in today's news: 346 homes up in smoke, and all within a span of about eight hours. That's California-scale. In fact, the early photos even look a lot like the Scripps Ranch photos from 2008.

So far, nobody I know has been directly affected although one of our clients in that area has a couple personnel affected by the evacuation orders.

I couldn't have picked a worse time to move. I took last wed, thurs, and friday to move. The heat index was well over 100. I lived in a renovated attic apartment. My programmable thermostat read 120 in my bathroom. I had to move everything down 3 flights of stairs into my new place. Brutal doesn't begin to describe the pain and frustration that was. At any rate, I'm in and adjusting. Lots left to do. The worst was moving all my weight equipment.

Did you keep power in Pittsburgh, at least? Here it's been off for four days and it's supposed to stay off for five more.

My previous rental flickered a few times, the new place has been rock solid so far. Lots of friends in the surrounding states have been without for a bit. One friend had to throw the entire freezer's worth of food away. That sucks so much.

I feel for those that don't have power. Would be pretty rough here without power right now. >100 everyday with ~50-60% humidity makes for a pretty undesirable, at least for me, outdoor experience.

This is like 5 months and some weeks. She's barely showing and I think she's a bit frustrated. But it's good overall; she took her obgyn's advice to start walking with me and she's actually the same weight as she was when she got pregnant  So at least she's healthier.

Haha I watched it too. He was all over the place. I graduated with a BS in Physics and that guy was worse than any professor I ever had. Really cool to watch though.

Now they have to do the grunt work to figure out if it does what theory predicts. As for now, all they've done is find a particle at 125-126 GEv.
