Are BB guns allowed in this thread? It's a real big PITA to get a gun license here so I bought a bb gun instead. It was a lot cheaper and since it's all metal (as opposed to ABS plastic) it looks exactly like the real gun from a distance of more than 1-2 meters.

Another reason not to get a gun license was that I can't have the gun that I really like. That is the Stechkin APS full auto handgun:

Dear god, why? Why would you want that when there is the Glock 18 available? :)

Anyhow, my humble contribution... me proposing to my wife!

I'll try to dig up some better photos. I think I have them backed up on disk somewhere.

If anyone else here is fascinated (as I am) by naval guns, you'll spend hours drooling over the stuff here:

Why are people fascinated by guns?

I don’t mean for my question to have ‘smartass’ intentions, but I’d just like to know (especially from gun-owners) just what is it that you find fascinating about guns, or weapons in general?

Ahh, I love it when these threads come up. :)

From top to bottom:

Beretta CX4 Storm in 9mm
Ruger 10/22 with custom folding stock
Bushmaster Carbon 15 5.56x45mm
Mosin Nagant M44 from 1946 with folding bayonet 7.62x51mm

And my newest addition to the family that I got today for my birthday:

It's a Ruger Single Six in .22 LR. Below it is my new SOG Flash II assisted opening knife. The revolve shoots like a dream and proved to be a lot of fun at the range today.

Dunno really. I'm not so much a personal gun freak as I am with big stuff that goes boom. Like artillery, naval guns, aa guns and what not, although don't get me wrong, I still like assault rifles, shotguns and flame throwers. Perhaps for the same reason guys drool over over chainsaws and wrecking balls. We like to destroy stuff?

I'm not much of a gun fanatic, but I have two classics that will be willed to me when my parents die.

The first is a BB Gun, but a rare one, a Daisy Model 21 Double Barrel. My grandfather bought it from a door-to-door salesman back in 1969.

The second is a 1955 Colt .357 Python. It has a bright nickel finish and a 3-inch barrel. A rare gun from what I've been told. It's got a kick to it. I prefer a longer barrel on a hadgun, but...eh...this is what my grandfather used to hunt squirrel.

LfK, is that one of them Kahrs with the poly frame? How do you like it? Does it have a pretty harsh kick?

To expand on Buub's questions, how is the trigger on that little Kahr of yours? From what I've heard, Kahr is the one to beat when it comes to pocket autos.

The correct caliber is 7.62x54mm (7.62x51mm is the NATO round), and the Mosin Nagant kicks like a **** mule.

Bah.

Glock 21 FTW.

you cant compare a glock to that weapon , it like comparing a VW to a BMW
Thanks Pat
I did some research before I purchased it and compared it to the Kimber.
It seems every one preferred the Springfield.
A friend of mine bought 2 of his customers each one of these and they both have Kimbers and like the Springfield.
HK is a fine weapon also , I had the .40 in the past and loved it.

I've owned several 1911s. My favorite was the Para Ordance P14-Limited; a tricked-out high-capacity 1911.

My much cheaper Glock 21 out shoot it, was far more comfortable in the hand, and had less recoil with +P rounds than the P14 had with standard, and pointed more naturally (for me) than any other gun.

Both were drop-dead reliable.

But the G21 is a Glock; basically, indestructible.

At first, I hated Glocks. But after owning them, and quite a few other guns, I've vowed never to stray again 8)

Now, I'd have to say my two favorite hand guns are the G21 & G35. I like the 35 alot, but prefer the grip size of the G21. Alot of people think it's way too big (so did I at first), but after you get used it...it's like going to a dual core from a Celeron. You just don't want to go back :D

I shot a few glocks in my time , to me they feel cheaply made and i cant say much about accuracy(It could have been me)
The Springfield Armory 1911 Operator 5 is used by US Military Spec Ops
and SWAT , the marines use the HK USP both fine weapons.
