Photoshop/Art Gods: Need help designing new wrestling gear!

Talented gerbils in the areas of art and/or photoshop, I need your help! In the past I've had my wrestling gear made by one of the best in the business, EZ Money (stage name obviously, http://eztights.com). Since I am making a comeback this year (after almost three years away), I've decided to get all new gear. This time I am going for a more traditional wrestler look using trunks.

I described to EZ what I need, but he needs a drawing or picture of what it should look it in order accurately translate it into the gear. Since I cannot draw worth anything and have zero photoshop skills I am turning to you, my TR brothers, to see who could help me with this.

My character is "The Perfect Creation", so typically I've used "heavenly" type art such as clouds and lightning. My colors are black, turquoise, and purple. I am looking to have trunks, knee pad covers and a ring jacket made. Click on the links to see example from EZ's site.

Below, I'll provide examples of past gear I've used and describe what I am looking to have done now. Any help you could provide in creating an example that I can send to EZ would be great! One thing to keep in mind: The designs can not be overly complicated because they will be created with embroidery (sewn into spandex).

Trunks

Alternative Lightning Design

On the behind (butt), I would like to emulate the clouds from the first pic above, retaining the primary colors. I would then like to have the lightning jet out from the clouds and follow around the sides of the trunks leading to the front (but not all the way). The front of the
trunks will be left blank. The original artist used the yellow "pitchforks" to create the lightning for my design. That could certainly be used again or we could use the other design. I am open to artistic interpretations.

Ring Jacket
I'd like to take a larger version of the design from the trunks and translate it to the jacket (on the back) with "Perfect Creation" on top of the design. The second pic below is from an old T-Shirt I had but I think it could work on a jacket.

Knee Pad Covers
I'd like to emulate as best as possible the example design, with "P" on one knee and "C" on the other. Not sure EZ needs help translating this but I thought I would share.

I am not asking for an original design. It's recreating what already exists from the examples I provided. Like I said it doesn't need to be complicated at all. Just clouds and lightning, and the cloud design is already there. Don't over think it. Clouds and Lightning, that's all. I know easy for me to say! Of course, a completely original design could work too.

Of course, if no one wants to take this on as a "freebie" for a fellow gerbil, I could always offer to pay for your time. I was thinking it would be pretty quick for someone with the talent, maybe I was off in that assumption? Even someone with some decent artistic ability could draw something and scan it for upload to the web?

After reloading my machine not too long ago, my font library is full of fail, I have like nothing in it. I had the idea of extending the strike and have some sparks kinda splashing about from the impact. The impact of course should be right near the frontal-crotchal area, chicks dig that. Anyhow... It's not much...



That font isn't working for me, and I don't like mostly white face of it....

Realistically making a decent lightning suit will be difficult. Any chance you could electrify it? Weave in some fiber-optics and LEDs or something, though I would hate to think where you would need to store the batteries. Maybe an overcoat/robe would be electrified or robe with a normal black/violet outfit woven with sparkly fabric in the shape of lightning.

I am thinking a cyclone and eye on the font and back with reflective lightning streaking out from within it (in a perfect circle so to speak) and would wrap to the other side of the shirt and join up again. Keeping it symmetrical would keep in-line with your stage name.

Thanks for the thoughts LS, but I think you are overthinking it. Check out the examples on his website (specifically the trunks). Mostly designs tent to be simple, especially on trunks because 1) There is not a lot of fabric "real estate" and 2) You want it to be somewhat visible the crowd and on TV so it looks good. This has to be a very simple design, just some clouds and lightning. I really just wanted to recreate what I already have and just translate that.

I think that looks very good (sans the letters since I don't want those on the trunks)!! If that could be used as the lightning and add some subtle clouds in there I think that could work. Thanks man!!

pete: set the lightning layer blending mode to Overlay/Screen (can't remember off the top of my head which one). Also try this with the cloud layer: dark blue, but stretch it horizontally so that it resembles clouds more closely.

I was just mocking it up for him to see it, but thanks for the tips. Anyone can google "photoshop lightning" and get something like the above. He's just using it as a base for the designer to create

Ah, sorry, I was under the impression that it was supposed to be the final art.

Nice! Remembering that this needs to be translated to fabric by the costuming designer, I would say the lighting needs to be thicker (like this). With fabric, he's really only going to be able to do one primary color (the white) and maybe one or two outline colors. (for example the pic above is white primary with a light blue outline color). I was thinking this could be partnered with the clouds from my original tights, which I think you translated well.

Looking good, much better (and more creative!) than anything I could come up with!

I like it. I might have to flip it 90 degrees since this design is going on the behind. Anyone else have some ideas/designs, etc.? I also have a few ppl at work who are designing some stuff so I'll share that with you guys.

I am still struggling with clouds because as they are in this pic I am not sure how that will look translated onto the wrestling gear. I might just have to use the lightning. We'll see. Thanks for taking the time to do it.

What do you think of the original design in my OP? There, he used the purple and turquoise colors in the clouds themselves, as opposed to the lightning. You think that could work too? Again, THANK YOU!!
