It would cost quite a lot to make it useful, though. Flat tops aren't much good for anything besides what they're originally made to do without a very expensive conversion.
It would, however, be very interesting to see how many people might be interested in buying a piece of it.
I can remember in 1991 the "former Soviet Union" was selling old military jets for $21000 or so. I was very tempted, but looking into it more, the ones for that price were pretty crappy Mig-21's if I recall correctly, and had engines that would have to be completely overhauled after a very short number of hours of use. Still, they used to have some kind of short take-off or even Harrier-like vertical take-off jet, and put in combination, hey, we COULD become our own world power!
My plan, if I can get rich enough, is to do like those libertarians are doing and build a ship and stay off shore forever. Pass all the stupid laws you want, then, bozos. I'll watch you sink.

The lifts to bring aircraft on deck still function - although the lower deck where the aircraft were once stowed now has goals at either end to form an almost full-sized football pitch.
The deadline for offers to buy the ship is this week.
But the British groups are still well short of the amount needed to take the Vengeance across the Atlantic.
Costs mean the ship would have to be towed for its last voyage although the Brazilians say it could be made ready to make the last re-entry to Britain under its own power.

What piece of the puzzle don't fit right dude?

OK, you win the lottery and buy the HMS Vengeance. Its engines are high pressure steam boilers attached to turbines. It's highly unlikely that the turbines even spin anymore. Most of the men who once knew how to run them are dead; the rest are damned close. As for your fear of its armed might, the most optimistic published specs say it carried 4 3-pounder (47mm) guns and a bunch of 40mm anti-aircraft guns. Stay 5000 metres away and you're safe. Assuming its one catapult is still operational, that still begs the question of finding carrier-qualified aircraft, weapons, aircrew, ground crew, and the inevitable large pile of junk known as the spares bin. Max published speed is 25 knots (29 MPH/46KPH), or less than 50% of the speed of a stock out-of-the-box base SeaDoo. For the $4.5million price, its best use is a floating MTV studio so that Spring Break can chase the perfect wave of the Endless Summer.
