Flying cats!

I don't know entirely what to make of this. The pictures of this flying cat have to be seen to be believed. And there's a video as well.

edit: Damage linked it on his latest Etc. post, too, and I thought for sure that people would find it amusing. Everyone universally seems to be somewhat off-put by it.

I thought a friend's freeze-dried cat carcass on top of a bookshelf was wrong. This takes wrongness orthogonal to reality.

What the hell makes people feel this need to play with pet carcasses? Pet taxideremy, this, I don't get it.

If flying cat carcasses is wrong, I don't want to be right.

OK ok you caught me - no chance in hell I'd ever do it.

So freaking awesome. All it needs is laser beams. Like the bears.

I'm in the curious position of being simultaneously offended and LOLing at this. WTF? I guess the Dutch need something else to be famous for besides windmills!

Well, he probably didn't have a pig carcass handy! Would've had to have been a pretty small pig for it to work... cats are (slightly) more aerodynamic!

glad I'm not the only one, had I not watched the CNN response where the artist talks about how he's fulfilling his pets dream when it was alive I'd still be thinking he's being cruel.

I don't have a hate on for it but nothing about it's funny to me.... it's a corpse that's been violated in every conceivable way, in the end I hope humanity can at least evolve to the level where it at least respects the sanctity of the dead but as for now..... meh.

Y'know... my initial reaction was kind of a mix of "Yuck!" and "Whoa... WTF, that's insane!". But the cat was already dead... he didn't kill it for this purpose, so there's no animal cruelty angle. And other people taxidermy animals all the time (they just don't put motors and propellers on the paws, go figure). Equating it with violation of a corpse is rather over the top.

I think I'm going with "tacky" as my adjective of choice.

I have cats, and I think it is dead funny.

When I go, you can hook me up with a jetpack. Now that would be an awesome funeral.

A good start, but I don't see color-shifting LEDs in the eyes. And a small air gun that fires hairballs out of the mouth.

I mean, if you want to make someone really go for the shotgun and garlic cloves at 3am after hearing "a noise" outside their second-story window, you need to get the details right.
