I notice that on some products, namely beauty care products, the ingredients usually contain water, but is is listed as, 'water (aqua)'. This is on many but not all beauty products I see. Is there a reason why the word 'aqua' is included in parenthesis? Is it just to sound fancy french, or is there some other reason?

It's mandated by law; There's a naming convention for cosmetics to avoid ambiguity and confusion which is vital for allergy sufferers.

This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine. However, my signature is neither my best friend, nor is it my life. I also have no desire to master it and my worth is not signature-dependent.
