I doubt you've seen any site that's been around this long do it though. Give them a little credit; running a tech website for a decade is an accomplishment in itself, let alone with the quality of content you'll find here.

I think in general, people are expecting a bit much. It's a website, its primary (possibly only) revenue source is advertisements. Instead of complaining about it, we should be happy for the owner(s) that they're doing well, and such faith by major advertisers bodes well of the continued quality content.

As an added note, if you donate $5 or more to TR you get access to the smokey back room ;)

I'm sure this helps keep the site up to a degree.

I've actually asked about the donate situation before because I couldn't find the paypal or button anymore. I don't think there is anything set up right now to accept donations.

We need to get Damage on that. It's been a while since I dropped a few bucks into the box, and this thread got me thinking about it again.

The Paypal button still works, and it gets you into the SBR (which is quiet right now and has been for a while...but if some of the newer regulars jumped in that would change).

Yeah, I know where that is. The only reason I said what I did above is because I tried to donate once and it didn't go through or something. Maybe i'll give it another shot. The SBR isn't really why I'm donating, but it would be fun for the regulars if we got something going on there. (I say that as if I think i'm a regular?)

The amount of entitlement behavior in this thread is sad.

Maybe admitting to violating rule 12 just needs to result in a permanent ban.

I apologize for "not knowing" fact is the tone of this thread was very much based toward that thinking, so if you wanna use the wonderful logic of banning all, so be it.

I have the items I mentioned clearly for other sites and not here, all I had said was I never actually noticed the uproar, please, give me a break buddy.

Whats even more ironic is the fact that the wifey reminded me of what I was trying to do before, find the paypal button because as she said the benefits I have derived from this site= at the minimum 5 bucks, even though things are tight for us atm.

Guys, chill out... No need to perma-ban anyone, and also no need to explicitly mention any "tools" you personally use, even if you supposedly use them elsewhere, since it can be easily interpreted in different ways

Everybody cool down. Nobody's getting banned.

Unless we require new members to sign in blood that they've read all the forum rules, a warning on first offense is the appropriate response. Repeat offenders are another story...
