At any rate, I would love to talk about Star Wars. So I shall.

When you say 3) Lucas failed to overcome...what did he fail to overcome? His pride that he can do no wrong? His failure to let competent directors and writers handle his ideas?

The #3 reason for the great betrayal is predicated on a host of discussions that would probably take too long to delve into, but the general gist is that Lucas, as he aged, became complacent while simultaneously succumbing to his own personality cult.

The idea is that this is somewhat normal, that it occurs naturally, and must be actively resisted and overcome by all great creators should they continue to create great works.

Pixar got close to breaking the wall between Empire Strikes back and Toy Story 2. What if they put the 'Star Wars' and 'Pirates' franchises together? Disney already did something along the same lines in Treasure Planet...

When it comes to tinkering with the classic series, I can be die-hard old fart. With the prequels I'd be more ok with Disney doing deals with any 'ole devil by way of Lucas.

Other than getting Justin Bieber and the Twilight cast into Star Wars, it's not like Disney can do a worse job than Lucas, you know.

I went to see Skyfall this weekend and a simple combo, popcorn, pop and M&M's costs more than $15.00, their was a time when I used to look at ppl weirdly for sneaking in stuff in their jacket now I feel like the theater is making ppl do it.

regarding Star Wars episode #7.

many moons ago before episode #6 I remember hearing that the series had 9 planned episodes, #7 was supposed to be named "Return of The Imperial"... I probably heard this during the buildup to episode #6, so long ago I don't know, anyway only the title stuck with me.

the Imperial fleet having lost it's leadership initially breaks apart with most resorting to piracy, selling their services to the highest bidders while some of the more ambitious were conquering worlds and establishing their own power base, the idea being a story about how these born and genetically bred warriors were finding it nearly impossible to give up war/violence and re-integrate into the republic.

within this turmoil new leadership offers a new purpose for the "lost generation" to rally behind.... my term.

anyway that is all that I remember and I think it'd be great.... and no I did not hear anything about Jar Jar Binks being a part of it
