But can we *please* spend at least 2 seconds proofreading our headlines before posting them on the front page?

It's hard to tell from the picture but that not water, it's actually goose feathers. Those goose feathers have been devastated.

I still have a screencap from the Columbia space shuttle break-up which indicates that the shuttle was traveling 18 times the speed of light.

It actually took me a little while to figure out what was wrong with it. I focused so much on the spelling on the spelling of "devastated" that I didn't even see "down." There is a very slight chance that this is supposed to be "down," as a "down" is a geographical feature, but that's more of a British word than an American word.

A few minutes after it went up they replaced "down" with "town".

Admittedly it was a typo, but have none of you ever heard of Watership Down? Classic, popular kids book around the world.

Down = Hill or Hillock.

They probably posted this from their iPhone... hence the auto-correction to a real word; the "ediotrs" missing it.
