Because the process stinks. It's useless to a community.
1st off: yes absolutely the process .... sorta stinks a little.
if I have a question for Sam I'll PM, if I get a response great, if I feel the community could benefit I'll post it in a separate thread.
your expectation of lightning fast public responses to any and all questions 24/7/365 no matter how significant/insignificant may have been a bit much. personally I don't feel he's hurting or helping AMD at all right along with I'm not sure he can hurt or help AMD.
things that Sam could be useful for would be a more personal approach to reporting gfx driver glitches, quick access to links to beta release patches, custom tailored software that may improve bios support, compiler support and or specific apps to boost perf for cpu's or gfx that may or may not be publicly available but more obscure to find.
as an example I was playing a game recently.... an old game called Crimson Skies that doesn't work on post geforce 6xxx series cards worth a damn, Nvidia has ppl available on many forums who can move a complaint to the right ppl, in regards to Crimson Skies the final response was that Nvidia wasn't going to patch it but I still had to give them credit for looking into it, a Crimson Skies enthusiast wrote a script to fix the issue soon after.
what I'd like to see "Sam" be able to do is much the same as the Nvid shill did, forward the request to those that matter and let me know if anything can or will be done about it.... and barring that it'd be cool if a fix was found and linked.
what I don't expect to get from "Sam from AMD" is insider level access to new product of any kind or in any meaningful way... IE: I want to know now what's coming up in Hawaii, I doubt it's what he's here for, I also don't need to know his itinerary or what other forums he's active in as those would be personal questions that have nothing to do with AMD.
p.s. as for "Sam" posting in non AMD threads regarding non AMD topics like the one linked...... again I suspect you don't understand what his greeting/offer was, he's a forum member who can also if you PM him
potentially forward reasonable queries up the chain, what he is not is solely or exclusively an AMD marketing shill getting paid 24/7/365 to push AMD propaganda in every post.
Splitting hairs is the source of every prolonged discussion on the web.
