Multiple 6.x quakes are a bit more excitement than the average person needs.
I was visiting friends in California's Imperial Valley a year ago when the 2012 swarm hit. I think the two largest events were in the mid-5.x range and were just strong enough to buckle some sidewalks and take out storefront windows in Brawley. Many of the tremors were preceded by a low-frequency rumble, sort of like a large truck rattling a bridge.
Mostly, I was fascinated since it was my first time experiencing earthquake activity, which I think was more than a little annoying to the locals
