Keyser Soze is a character in the movie Usual Suspects.

If you have not heard of this movie or have not seen it in awhile, I suggest you go and rent it or buy it. You will not be disappointed.

The movie stars Kevin Spacey.

It also was a sleeper hit in 1995 and did not become a "cult classic" until it was released to video.

The move won two Academy Awards, one for Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor (Kevin Spacey).

I just re-watched it for the millionth time yesterday. And it still never gets old, IMHO.

PS.: Indeed a great movie, I've seen it when it was released in theatres here and I've rent it once and now I have the DivX. Magnificent movie.

guy across the hall from me my first year in college had the last name Kobaiashi (yes, pronounced "Koh-buy-ah-shee"). It was downright creepy. Except that he was Japanese. Which made it seem less like he was going to kill us.

Alright, I have to dissent a bit here.

It was a good movie, but not a great movie. The reason: The ending.

Sure, it was a shocker, sure, you never saw it coming (oops, did I ruin it for some of you?) but how many times can you watch it after you know who he is? I saw it once, and thought to myself, "Hmm, good movie. Never saw it coming." That was it.

On a side note, a comparable movie from the late eighties is the classic "Sneakers." Got it on video.

one thing i like about movies like this, is that you can watch them over again, and look for little hints that are dropped that point towards the ending. you can analyze it to no end, it's fun ;P

I agree with absurdity. You HAVE to watch it at least twice, precisely because you never saw it coming. If you go back, you find yourself saying "ohhhhh!" and "I never noticed that!" the whole way through.

However, I must say, Sneakers is also a fantastic film. Whenever I watch it, I marvel at how ahead of its time it seems - some of the dialogue has only become more relevant with time.

Agreed. Example: The garage scene.

Aahhhh, Sneakers. I love that movie. Never got tired of watching it the times it came on after the Superbowl, and bought it on DVD when I found it. Good stuff.
