I happen to be marginally irritated by people that unwittingly have terrible grammar, but I hate it more when people think it's funny to make a song about pointing out bad grammar etc.

1/10. Worst song of 2014 that I've heard.

I'd pm'd it to him when it first came out, I think he was offended.

Wow, Win98 and IE6. Hope that was an air-gapped system.

I first became aware of Weird Al in my early college years (reply hazy, try again) when one of my fraternity brothers shared many cassette tapes of the Dr. Demento show. Once his first album dropped in 1983 (spring of sophomore year), I was hooked. Luckily my term in college coincided with the birth of MTV and in their first few years they'd show anything, which gave Al his opening.

And yes, I love "UHF".

I celebrate his entire catalogue, with the exception of Toothless People from his Polka Party album, and that terrible Headline News sendup of the Crash Test Dummies one-hit wonder (which was better than the original but that's setting the bar awfully low). When this video went live I caught the MuchDoge916 twitter account and checked it to see if it was there and had other easter eggs. https://twitter.com/MuchDoge916/status/ ... 1170627585

Ya it's not like this is just some guy. It's not even a popular YouTuber. It's the modern day legend.

Back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth and MTV was a channel that showed nothing but music videos, there were semi-annual occurrences of Al TV, where Weird Al (I must admit I prefer the '80s poodle do) ran the place for 3-4 hours. Guaranteed to fill the chairs in the TV room at my fraternity.

I've been taking in the new Weird Al stuff slowly, in particular I thought "Foil" was great. But the music on this track is just too weak for me to enjoy the lyrics. Yes, I know it's a parody of that terrible Robin Thick song...

If pop music doesn't improve, Weird Al might have to get a job. His best material is the original stuff, not the direct parodies of pop songs, but the general public doesn't know that.

Weird Al is actually more popular now than ever. This album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. This is his first Billboard #1 album.

Ya, my dad still has In-3D (the one with Eat It, which is probably only the 3rd or 4th best song on the album) on vinyl. He got it when I was like 6. That started a mancrush for me that has not been squelched.

There's Brady Bunch (Safety Dance by Men Without Hats), Jeopardy! (Jeopardy by Greg Kihn Band), Midnight Star and That Boy Could Dance(both originals), the first of his Polka medleys, Theme from Rocky XIII (Eye of the Tiger by edit: JBI pointed out this is Survivor) that are all amazing. And then Eat It and a couple others that I'm forgetting.

Shame on you, Ned -- Eye of the Tiger was by Survivor, not Foreigner. (Though I suppose it doesn't really matter; they're both '80s arena-rock bands, and pretty much interchangeable.)

Off topic, but I grew up with Greg Kihn's nephews.

I think he's trying to avoid dignifying it with a response.

Little does he know that around these here parts, dignity has nothing to do with it
