Yea, posted about it a little while back. Got the mechanical failure RROD on x-mas day

On the plus side, a buddy of mine got a 360 and rock band for x-mas, so I got to play his a bit this last weekend. So now I'm just waiting for the shipping box to get to me so I can send mine off :\

I guess I (and tanker27 with his launch day machine, from what I can tell) have been really lucky, since I have a made-in March 2006 model. I bought it in early May 2006 and I've given it quite the workout - many days it's seen 5-6 hours of use, though it's been on less frequently since I got my Wii.

It's funny, I've only owned the Xbox since last Friday and I've already put more than 44 hours of play into it.

I've started, what I now call, the Xbox diet. Considering I've only had 3 actual meals in the last five days...and two of those are because I went to lunch while I was at work for two days. I probably would have gone home to play more, but I get less than an hour for lunch anyway.

Mine was fine when I was like that too. I rarely played for more than that, and usually only 1-2 hours at a time.

The weekend before x-mas though, I played Lost Planet almost non-stop from start to finish, which was probably 5-10 hours on both Saturday and Sunday. Monday I went to play and it kept freezing in games so I quit. Teusday I fired it up and got the RROD.

My advice, do 1 of 2 things. Never play it for more than a few hours at a time. Or, play it non stop for 10 hours 2 or 3 days in a row, if it doesn't fail, it likely won't. If it does, you can get it repaired while the warrenty is still good

Well I've got until May of '09, and if I make it that long and it dies, I figure I got my money's worth.

My advice to those worried (not me ATM) would be now that the newer hardware (or at least better cooling) is in the HDMI units, trade it in towards an HDMI unit and start your 3 years over.

you too?? i got mine on Christmas and ive barely put the controller down. most of my time has been going into find interesting and entertaining way to destroy zombies in Dead Rising. Ive always like zombie games/movies/anything, and knew id love this game, but i didnt know id love it this much hahah.

Ok, so I've sent out several friend requests now. My internet went out at home last night (in and out anyway, from a large storm front), so I was unable to send the rest of them. Hopefully, tonight, when I get off of work, I will send the remainder of my requests.

I'm trying to stick with sending a request to everyone I've seen and commented with, in the forums. That way, I'm not just some random person that you are unaware of. That means there are still one or two people on the list that I won't send one to...at least, unless they want me to. Edit your profile in the dashboard. You have a a "motto" and a "bio" (new since in last dashboard update)

So expect to see me dying a lot in the near future. That is, when I'm able to put down Rock Band, Ace Combat 6, and Mass Effect.

Yeah, I totally die all the time in Halo3 MP too. I have everyone on mute in that game (it has a blessed global mute option!) so it's like playing against really good bots.

Correct, Gold is required for online multiplayer. Silver member have access to everything else.
