Danger - Not exactly. When you install any new DirectX, the only ways to get it off is to roll back through System Restore, to reinstall Windows, or to destroy every file and registry entry, then install an older one.
The first isn't foolproof, the second is irritating, and the third is very risky.
This hasn't changed since DirectX 3, though, so don't expect it to change now.
eckslax - Palladium will be tied to an OS, not a DirectX version. Upgrading Windows Media Player buys you DRM, upgrading DirectX does not.
