I believe the game itself comes out for individual purchase on the 8th of next month, I'll check back then.

I broke down and purchased the orange box a few days ago. I only had a few minutes to play, but the game is FUN.

I would be interested in a TR server once the game comes out.

I've logged a good amount of time since the beta came out - more than is probably healthy, really. Look for an Engineer or Demoman named Hanlon.

The two great evils of system tuning: YMMV and IIRC.

I think I'll be making the purchase today. I finally got around to creating my own account, so keep your eyes out for Dizik or Karma Elite (my Steam ID).

Is there a TR Steam Community group? If not, there should be. The Shack has one, and it's currently my main group, but I love TR so much more...

I checked, and the following is available:

Group Name: TR Team Fortress 2 Clan
Abbreviation: TR TF2
Link: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/TRTF2/

So whaddy'll think?

Oh yeah, my steam ID is Gandhi  I caved in and purchased this morning, despite me wanting a cheaper price at retail

I just created a Tech Report Steam community.

It's called The Tech Report (abbreviation TR).

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/tech_report

It's public.

It would be nice if we had some way of keeping track of who is who in terms of what our usernames are on techreport (within steam).

I guess we could just state our steam account names here.

I'll try and be on around then too. I am using the same name for my Steam ID.

I'm in the group although I don't have TF2 (yet -- too much hw coming up for me to buy it just yet). Name's Lattan.

EDIT: Whoops, there went two hours I could've been studying.

Forgot to mention that I joined the group the other day. Actually, I was the first member besides mongoosesRawesome. :) Again, you can find me under the name Karma Elite.

PLayed about an hours worth tonight. Had my ass handed to me, but I still had a blast. TF2 is alone the price of admission of the Orange box.

But still looking forward to Portal even more.

This game is awesome. It really sucks when your team sucks, though -- it's Team Fortress for a reason. ;)

Yeah it does suck if your team sucks and you get steamrolled in less then two minutes - especially if you like playing engineer -.-

I couldn't play much before because AVG was conflicting with TF2 or something and causing my whole system to lock up, requiring a hard restart, but I switched to Avira Antivir and now I can get hours of TF2 goodness! School holidays here in NZ too

The facial animations in TF2 are awesome, they make for some really good screenies:

Heavy grinning after blowing me to bits.

Soldier after winning a hard battle.

Scout looking smug after pwning me.

(And yes I suck as a Pyro)

Does anyone notice any major difference between the very high texture setting compared to medium and high? For some reason it keeps reverting the texture setting back to medium after I exit the game. Once I set it to very high I think I see some difference but it is hard to tell.
