Re: What are you playing / looking forward to?

My system is pretty old (Athlon XP + 6600GT), so I've been mainly playing Age of Empires 3 (coop-multiplayer). I also just started playing through Zelda on the NES emulator. Once I finish up with class (mid-April), I'm going to build a new system and play some new games. I've had NWN2 sitting here unopened for the past year, so I'll probably play through that first, and then pick up the Orange box and Oblivion after that. I have a couple of old games that I'd like to finish... Return to Krondor, Baldur's Gate 2, and Guild Wars are on that list.

Just got BioShock last week and finished it yesterday (Would you kindly?), I haven't had any time/money to play anything these past months... great game... feels good to have some free time to play...

I've been playing the occasional Brawl with a bit of Super Metroid and (WC3) Dota. And when I'm away, Professor Layton on the DS.

Recently finished Crysis. Then for fun I played Far Cry, but I quit it probably 2/3 of the way...

Just bought the Orange Box, so I'm currently playing Half-Life 2 and enjoying it a lot. And it runs GREAT on my X1950Pro! Along with HL2, a recurring regular is Dawn of War.

Next up will be HL2: ep. 1 and ep. 2 and Portal. After it'll be Oblivion, which I just purchased a used copy of for cheap.

Currently not looking forward to some upcoming games. I usually get them after they've been out for a while and came down in price, and all the major fixes are out.

I would be lucky if my computer could load the installer for CnC3. So I play the rest of the series, from Dawn through Generals.
I've become a big turn-based strategy fan since getting my laptop... I get about 12 FPS on Civ 4 and as many as I want on anything older. Heroes of Might and Magic III anyone?

Oh also Dragon Age is by far one of the games I simply cannot wait to be released/revealed. It is supposed to be BioWare's spiritual successor to the BG series (god bless all the hopes for BG III), so it is definately one to look forward to.

Having played NWN2 and KOTOR2, I will not touch an Obsidian game again unless I know they get their act straight. They look good and has a decent story, but they are obviously not thought through, buggy, and towards the end it all falls apart, and everything starts feeling more and more hastily put together. And in NWN2's case (I guessing) crappy developers, the implementation of the AI is downright p*ss poor and annoying. All in all, they feel like genuinly medicore efforts on their part to deliver a solid product. Supposedly, a lot of people from Black Isle went to Obsidian, so I can only conclude that it wasn't Black Isle that made the games great. Or, all the wrong people went to Obsidian.

No, thank god for Spellcraft in the mean time.

I'm playing City of Heroes / City of Villains, and I'm looking forward to the next update ("issue 12") in that game.

Since I've started playing this MMO (didn't like WoW, btw), I've had little interest in other games. I used to play primarily in the AD&D-type fantasy genre, the Bioware / Obsidian stuff, but I think the quality has really fallen off there.

I read game reviews frequently, but nothing sounds as fun to me as the MMO I've already got.

I'm a fan of EVE Online or any of the Pokemon RPG's for the Game Boy's. Usually I do Pokemon on an Emulator while mining in EVE (boring :P).

I'm still going strong with my new run at Oblivion with the mods. I'm currently doing all the dark brotherhood quests, just killed J'Aghast :D

I picked up Silverfall for $20. I'm a sucker for this type of game play and I'm not sure why (yet) it was so poorly received. It's a diablo-esque game with that type of game play but gorgeous cell shaded, steam punk era graphics. It's really nice. So far I have no complaints other than the long install.

I picked up the full-blown Rock Band this weekend as compensation for my wife having a clutch of her friends over to gossip. I prepped for her party and then was allowed to banish myself to the basement while they went and talked shoes or some such.

I have discovered that I'm a lousy drummer and a worse guitarist. I'm having a blast!

Of course, first I have to build the new rig that would let me play these--but in this order:
Near-term actual PC game: Mass Effect
In-development and praying it's good: Deus Ex 3
Hoping for a massive revival from the dead and gone: Mechwarrior 5

That's not gonna happen. What will happen is if a bunch of enthusiasts get together and decide to make their own game of the Crysis engine. http://www.mechlivinglegends.net/

I'm currently playing Command and Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath, and I'm really looking forward to Red Alert 3. And StarCraft II.

Dungeon Siege 1, I don't think I ever played it though. I find the game works well when I only have a little bit of time to play or have to pause offen because of the my daughter.

SupCom FA when I have time for a multiplayer game.

I haven't read much about the new RPG from Bethesda. But rumor has it that it's coming out sometime in 2009 or 2010 and it might be called "Elder Scrolls V: Shadow Realm."

Fat chance of Bethesda released any ES titles anytime soon. I'd say 2011 or 2012. And if memory serves, they trademarked the name Skyrim already, so I'm guessing the game will take place there and the name will be Skyrim as well.

I enjoy going back, reading old threads with predictions and seeing how they pan out. +1 to SecretMaster on Skyrim.

And just so there is some justification to necroing an old thread, I'm playing Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Deus Ex. Really liking Amnesia but Deus Ex is not drawing me in as much.

Holy thread resurrection batman!

That said, my main thing I'm waiting for is Battlefield 3, everything is just a snack before the dinner. Although Portal 2 have to be counted as a entrée. Probably getting Crysis 2 and the new Deus Ex in the mean time.

wtf is RO:HOS? Google pointed me to http://www.rohos.com/

Pretty sure that's not right.

I'm looking forward to Diablo III and Portal 2. Still playing SC2. A little Torchlight once in a while. Audiosurf is fun. That's about it right now.

Agreed with the anticipations, minus Rage. Also playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but just one the first one still. Reading Metro 2033.
