eh, it's all personal opinion.

Personally I enjoyed MTG from the olden days (I only started at the end of 3rd edition and stopped not too far past ice age).
Meanwhile, I even did a little LARPing (vampire masquerade) and never did DND (tabletop) but did play DND online, which i enjoyed. I can say I was somewhat disappointed by seeing so many stereotypical Larpers at some events.

Overall though, I think the vote choice should allow both :)

If you asked this question ten years ago, then it would be DnD hands down. At the time MtG was very popular among normal people because it was one of the few card games on the market. The people who are playing MtG are now the same people who have been playing it for ten years. I would still rate DnD as nerdier than MtG, but both of them are way up there.

Since this question nearly made my brain implode.. I'll be careful how I say this.

D&D 4th Vs. MTG

I'll forever choose MTG.

3.5 D&D Vs. MTG

I...can't choose... trying to do so would make me have an aneurysm.

It's pretty much the same category of nerdiness, so you are as nerdy (in this particular sense of the word) as the nerdiest activity. These are a completely different type of nerdy than say having a hobby in astrophysics, or being a Simpsons nerd, etc.
