I made an app!!

Postposted on Thu Mar 10, 2011 1:57 pm

Hey guys,

So over the past seven or eight months my friend and I have worked our asses off and we came up with a cool, cool game for iOS devices! If you ever played Pokemon Puzzle League, or Tetris Attack it's kind of like that. It's a two-player competitive puzzle game that's really colorful and quirky. The game is called:

SUPER BLOCK PARTY!!

iTunes link: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/super-bl ... ?mt=8&ls=1

It costs less then a gallon of gas and nearly made me homeless trying to make it so I hope it does well!! Thanks to any of you that pick it up and HUGE thanks in advance if you rate/review it! :D

I shared it with everyone I know on Facebook and put a link on Twitter, too. When I get a chance I'll pick it up myself. I restrict myself to using iTunes cards for purchases; I ran up like $80 in app purchases on my debit card right after I got my iPod and had to cut myself off the hard way...

I was wondering why you were so quiet in the comment session! Good job and I'll be looking into it for my kids.

Ironically, even though my primary phone is an Android phone, we do not have an Android OS version. Sorry. :(

I just picked it up in support. Congrats! Hopefully one of these days I'll get through my book and get an app out there on the App Store.

Have you considered pumping out a few review codes for some of the more popular iPhone app sites like Touch Arcade and SlideToPlay?

I sent out a review code to TouchArcade but haven't heard of SlideToPlay. I'll give them a shot. Any others I should know about?

I like those kind of games. If I don't own anything Apple ...I assume I have to wait until I'm in the same city as a relative who has an iPhone? Is there an easy emulator (short of building a hackintosh)? I can host a VM for this if necessary.

Your secret is safe with me.

TO THE REST OF YOU: BUY IT. Haven't had an opportunity to play multiplayer yet but ROFLstomping the AI came to an abrupt end when I ran into an AI opponent I couldn't beat. I'll get there, I'm sure. :D

It has a clear, singular vision. The music is appropriate (if a little repetitive) to the graphics, the silly art style, and nonsense AI opponents. It plays great and responsive, and it's just fun. My wife loves Tetris-attack style games and while she has it installed I'm not sure she's played it yet. personally I never really liked them but supported your effort, but came to really like this style as a result.

Congrats SSID. I was going to buy this the other day but didn't have my Apple info with me. Looks like a sweet game, maybe I'll have to carry through with that purchase!

port that bad boy to WP7, and i'll buy it! it's likely going to be a bigger market than apple anyway, so the sooner you start the better!

Yeah, I bought it the night I first read this thread but forgot to post about it. The graphics are charming and REALLY well done and I have to say the game was very entertaining - maybe a touch confusing though - kinda crazy but in a good way. :)
