I just pulled the trigger on 3 games and Torchlight was one of them (I'll probably never get to playing it for any length of time).

Picked up Torchlight, Limbo and Blur, for a grand total of $11.xx

I'll consider Rage when it's $10 or less. And speaking of $10 or less, I'm slightly bent out of shape about missing Portal 2 for $7.49. Oh well, it's not like it won't be that price again in a couple of months or so.

I pity the suckers that paid 50 or 60 a couple months ago.

I'm finding that the better deals are outside of Steam this year. I got Dragon Age 2 for $5 on Direct2Drive and Deus Ex: Human Revolution for $10 on Amazon. Deus Ex is activated on Steam.

The problem with the Steam sales these days is that the Thanksgiving sale kind of spoils it. There's no sales that we haven't seen before.

I don't know, Arkam City 50% was nice. And Space Marines for 50% of was OK too (I got that one). But it's a lot of the same games time and time again (Has Just Cause 2 ever NOT gone on sale during this?).

I picked up Saints Row the Third for 30% off. I was going to buy it anyway, and this just clinched it.

Very surprised that Skyrim is on sale. I would have never guessed that they would discount it this soon.

Can anyone comment on Hard Reset? It looks kind of interesting, but I haven't heard much about it.

funny how I'd forgotten about all the RAGE issues. instantly crashed when attempting to start.

I guess it's time to update the drivers that work perfectly fine for EVERY OTHER GAME OUT THERE. at least the ones I've tried... which is a couple. ;)

Edit:
I've come to the very quick conclusion that Rage is a steaming pile of cat poop. The kind with tapeworms in it.

So far I've gotten:

Skyrim
Alice: Madness Returns

Pretty happy with both of those being on sale so soon as both were on my wishlist anyway. :)

It was previously offered on 12/21. Today's deals are a reprise of some of the most popular ones. The sale ends in just 15 hours.

First time I've ever really taken advantage of steam sales.

Bought MW3
Assassin's creed 2
Mafia 2
Far cry 2
All the fallout NV DLC
GTA4

all for under 70 bucks total. Pretty solid haul. My gaming schedule will be booked for months.

Blur caught me by surprise, I bought it, played it, and I can honestly say I'm appalled.

I'm appalled that customers let the company run out of business. This game is amazing. I loathe "generic" racing games (any of the DIRT/GRID/CAPSLOCK/Formula 1 or any other sort), but Blur got me back into racing after so many years of being bored by it.
Now I recommend the game at every chance I get. I picked up about 10 games or so, but Blur was, by far, the most played.

Other junk includes:
- Just Cause, Just Cause 2 + all DLC
- Penumbra complete pack + Amnesia
- Metro 2033
- Prototype
- From Dust
- Universe Sandbox
- Terraria
- Lugaru HD (this was on sale too, but only bought it out of curiosity due to the Overgrowth thread here. I've given it an honest shot, but I have to tell this is the only game that's sincerely bad. Bad. Bad, in every sense of the word and I hope they straighten it out by Overgrowth's release.)

Portal 2 $7.49 (naturally less than the sale price I paid and I haven't played it yet :))

I loved it. Good, reasonably fast paced action. Don't expect much of a story, but its fun, and worth a play if you like non-war-simulator FPS's.

It's kind of like Serious Sam on techno-crack, with slightly less weapon separation. You go along levels and push stuff, then once in a while, a bunch of poo rolls in and you're forced to circle strafe, prioritise targets, and sit on the fire button in general.
