Since this topic goes on for 7 pages I did not read the whole thing. I could probably find the answer some where in there but I am going to ask and hope some one will come to my rescue.

I started a GW2 character a while back, not sure which server. Did not get very far and had to stop playing because of health issues and never got back to it. So to my question. Can I delete that character and start another and be able to pick a new server to play on or is my whole account stuck on the server my first character is on? If I can change servers this way what server is the TR guild on? I looked on the CBE forums but there is no sticky with info about the guild and what server its on.

Yes you can start a new toon and delete the old one. I believe you get 5 character slots with the game , maybe 6. You can change servers, I'm not sure if there's a cost associated with it , but I don't think there is unless you exceed x numbers of servers changes in x amount of time.

I haven't been active much lately, hoping to change that soon. I think CBE is all on Henge of Denravi, and if you delete all your characters, you can world transfer for free.

"The transfer fee is only charged if you have characters on your account; in other words, if your account has no characters or you delete all existing characters first, you will be prompted to select a new home world after creating a new character, free of charge."
Please don't edit my signature for me. Thanks.

Cool, thanks for the info. I think I started with a warrior type character and got bored with it so no loss to start over on a new server.

Yes, Cold Black Eyes is still going strong. If you'll send your character's name to me or one of the other officers, we can send you an invitation. After you've accepted the invitation, you'll need to "represent" to participate in guild chat. There's also a guild message board at http://www.coldblackeyes.com but you'll have to get Emkubed to grant you access there.

You can change worlds once every 7 days.
Guild Wars 2 Official Wiki wrote:
Transferring
To transfer to a different world, go to the character selection screen (using F12 or when you first logon) and select the desired world; you will be logged out while the game makes these changes, which might take 5-30 minutes. You can transfer once every seven days at a cost determined by the destination server population.
Medium: 500 Gems
High: 1000 Gems
Very High: 1800 Gems
The transfer fee is only charged if you have characters on your account; in other words, if your account has no characters or you delete all existing characters first, you will be prompted to select a new home world after creating a new character, free of charge.

Guesting
Guesting allows you to play with friends on other worlds in the same region without paying a fee. To guest in another world, navigate to the World Selection window on character selection. Select the world you wish to guest and then the Guest button next to the Transfer button. The game will ask you to confirm. A symbol will be placed next to the world, indicating you are now guesting in that world. Guesting only applies until your character logs out but you may log in to any world you are eligible to guest on as many times as you wish with no restriction. If you wish to change to a different character, you will have to pick the guest world again. Players may guest in up to two worlds at a time and the guesting period lasts for 24 hours. Once the guesting period expires, you are free to choose to guest in that world or choose a different world. Influence you earn while guesting accrues to your guild on your home world.

There are some restrictions and limitations to guesting. You retain bonuses from your guild based on your home world. Players on North American home worlds cannot guest on European worlds or vice versa.[3] You cannot participate in World versus World for that world, you will be moved back to your home world. You will not receive any Power of the Mists bonuses while guesting. [verification requested] Guesting on worlds that are full or highly populated increases your risk of being put into an overflow map.

There are three situations in which you can play with people in other worlds without guesting to their server. You must be in the same party and everyone must be from the same region (US or EU).[4]
Any overflow shard — right-click on a character's name in the party menu and choose, join in [zone].
Dungeons — to enter the same instance, all five party members must be in the zone that contains the dungeon before entering. This now also applies to the Fractals of the Mists.
Personal stories — with the same restriction as for dungeons.

So I've got myself a copy of the game and am started playing last night. Some friends of mine play on a different server (Dragonhand?) than you all, so I rolled there first. Can I also roll on the TR guild's server?

I tried out a Charr warrior and Sylvari necromancer for about 30 minutes each. I like the necromancer better at the moment since I've played warriors so many times it all feels the same. The necromancer seems to be different enough to be fresh.

I played WoW up to Lich King and my favorite class/spec was Enhancement Shaman. I liked the combination of melee and spellcasting as well as the ability to heal when needed.

I know most or all classes can heal, but which class comes closest to being like an enhancement shaman?

The message that I posted two before yours in this thread has the information on changing worlds or guesting to different worlds. We can send you an invitation to the Cold Black Eyes guild. You can be a member of more than one guild, but you can only represent one at a time. As noted above, there are a few limitations on what you can do when guesting away from your home world.

Each of the eight professions has healing. Most of them can mix up melee and ranged attacks, depending on which weapons you equip. A new character will spend several hours learning the skills for each weapon available to that profession. For necromancer, I like the warhorn off-hand weapon because skill 5 makes you faster and makes your enemies slower.

I find the mesmer (with one-handed sword in the main hand and pistol in the off-hand) to be an interesting combination of light armor, melee and magic. My mesmer's swap-out weapon set is a greatsword, which has ranged attacks (though it is a melee weapon when employed by other professions).

Cool. Guess I'll be guesting. It seems like a really nice and flexible system compared to the constraints of WoW.

Looks like an elementalist with daggers(?) may be the closest I can get to an enhancement shaman... though I will look closer at the mesmer and necromancer. I already liked the necro so that may just work.

For what it's worth, this weekend is free to play, no restrictions I don't think. Download the client tonight and create an account, and see what you like! I rolled a guardian just to get back into the game (took some time out for competitive LoL play) and I'm enjoying things. I like the daily format, and Im really enjoying leveling yet again. Such a gorgeous game.

Guardian with greatsword is one of the easiest combinations to play for me. Guardians are pretty durable. When you just want to smash the bad guys to pieces without worrying about perfect timing of attacks and dodging, here's your opportunity.

Because there are so many different combinations of weapons skills and utility skills, each profession has many possible play styles. Experiment until you find one that works well for you. If you're struggling, ask a guildie for help.

Note that this is a LARGE download (over 18 GB expanded on my hard-drive). You want to get it started now to have the download and program installation done before the free play period begins (at 3AM EDT on Friday morning). Details are here:

I tried ele out until about 15 or so, ended up deleting him to make room. I just didn't like the playstyle. My mains are my Engy, warrior, and now this Guardian. Engineers are the jacks of all trades, masters of (one) because they can do everything well, but rarely are the best at anything. With their recent healing buffs, I think they are amazing for condition removal, buff application, and healing. For healing you can take the healing pot to get the toolkit heal/regen/protection, coupled with the elixir gun splash and pulse heal. With reduced cooldowns you have a pretty effective AoE heal every 16 seconds or so? I still think they need to rethink turrets. They are completely useless even with 30% DR and self-healing and with the increased healing from wrench-smacks. They just have far too little base health to be effective anywhere but PVE. Most veterans can even one-shot them.

Been running a hybrid heal/Dps spec on my engineer presently, the bunker spec isn't that great, very boring. Warrior is running a shout spec but im playing with a banner spec with the recent buffs to defense and health regen on banners. No spec for my guardian yet, just leveling.

Hi everyone. Anyone still playing this game? I found this post about Addons. Anyone using any of the add-ons described?https://green.wikia.org/wiki/User_blog:Snf98/Guild_Wars_2_Addons_-_Which_Ones_Should_You_Get%3F

Yes. I still play Guild Wars 2. ArenaNET keeps adding new content (though the pandemic’s interruption of voiceover work for the last Living World episode was disappointing).
